restorative yoga 6 week program.
Ross and I are extremely exited to present to you our first 6 week workshop.
Restorative yoga is suitable for beginners and practitioners of all levels. By definition, restorative yoga is a restful practice that holds yoga poses (asanas) for a longer duration using props like yoga blocks. It is a practice of deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga—the union of body and mind. Through the use of props for support, the postures are held almost effortlessly.
When the body enters a state of relaxation the mind can also consciously relax as tension is released from both body and mind. The only work that's required on your part during a restorative yoga practice is to pay attention to your breath and become aware of any sensations or thoughts that may arise.
Lisa has practiced yoga for over 10 years. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in Bali in 2017 and returned keen to share all she learnt.
She embarked on yoga to help calm the mind and to increase health and wellbeing. It has also been important for her rehabilitation from surgical treatment as well as a great adjunct to the other sports she is involved in like stand-up paddle boarding.
She has an intuitive style of teaching that encourages her students to listen to their bodies. Her classes are predominately restorative and have a nurturing feel.
